Soap and Glory's Orangeasm | eilidhturner

I like to think of myself as somewhat of a Soap and Glory connoisseur. I've enjoyed using the brand for years so excitement was rife when I heard about their launch of the cheekily named 'Orangeasm' line. The inclusion of any kind of orange scent had me on the edge of my seat (The Body Shop's satsuma line anyone?) and I rushed down to Boots to get my hands on these... mostly because I would much rather test out new Soap and Glory products than accept the fact that my university exams are looming... oops.

The two products I picked up from the line are the Orangeasm Body Wash, priced at £6.50 for 500ml, and the Orangeasm Body Butter,  priced at £10.50 for 300ml (although currently on a 3 for 2 offer in Boots... hooray!). Soap and Glory describe the scent as 'fresh green mandarin, Sicilian lemon and sweet orange peel oils'. Enticing! There is a third product in the line which is a Super Tonic Fragrance, priced at £12 for 100ml but I thought it was best to test out the scent before committing to a fragrance!

First up, the Orangeasm Body Wash. My experience with Soap and Glory's body washes has been mixed... while I loved the scent of both the Sugar Crush and Clean On Me body washes, they just didn't foam up in the way that I like a body wash to. I was therefore pleasantly surprised when before my eyes in the steamy shower I saw BUBBLES! The pastel-orange coloured body wash foams up enough to keep my foamy wishes fulfilled, but not so much that I was drowning in a sea of foam.

Moving onto the Orangeasm Body Butter. On opening the lid of the pot, one can't help but notice tiny, bright orange balls in amongst the cream. Further investigation (i.e. reading the packaging) informed me that these were infact 'shea butter massage balls'... fancy! Once you begin to rub in the cream, these little balls disappear into the skin. I'm not entirely sure if they're massaging anything... but they're not doing any harm so I have no problem with them. The body butter doesn't disappoint, leaving the skin feeling moisturised for several hours. And boy, does that smell linger, as my flatmate was quick to point out whilst informing me that he 'doesn't like it'. Rude!

Check out those orange balls!
My verdict? If you're a fan of orange smelling products (which I certainly am) then definitely give these products a go. The fruity scent lingers and is perfect for the summer season, she says desperately wishing the sun to arrive in Scotland... As is nearly always the case with Soap and Glory, the products are very reasonably priced, especially considering the body wash is a whopping 500ml! If orange doesn't float your boat, then definitely avoid. There's no beating about the bush, these products are orangey. It hasn't overtaken Sugar Crush as my favourite Soap and Glory scent, but I will definitely repurchase the products again in the future!
